Rumours of a bank closure have been dismissed.

Tim Roca has moved to shut down rumours that NatWest on Chestergate is set to close.

The Macclesfield MP says such claims are 'entirely untrue'.

"I'm aware of rumours circulating about the possible closure of the NatWest branch in Macclesfield," he said.

"I've spoken directly with NatWest and am pleased to confirm that these rumours are completely unfounded, there are no plans to close the branch.

"Understandably, many constituents have been concerned by how quickly these false claims have spread, but I want to reassure everyone that they are entirely untrue."
