Pints are flowing once again at a much-loved community pub.

The Dolphin on Windmill Street is back in business, having shut its doors earlier this year.

Behind the bar you will find a new landlady, Angela Hogg, who arrives at the pub following a long career in financial services.

She said: "I saw the opportunity to enquire and find out more about plans for The Dolphin. Less than a month after viewing, we were open!

"I have been overwhelmed by the welcome we have received and it is clear that The Dolphin is very much loved."

In April, The Dolphin's previous tenants decided to call it a day after 25 years at the helm.

Following service on Friday (April 11), the pub's doors were locked up, with its future up in the air.

Robinsons Brewery began the search for a new operator, stating they were 'confident' it would be back open soon.

On Thursday (May 29), Angela and the team began welcoming customers once more.

She said: "The first weekend was incredible, with the community really showing their appreciation for the pub remaining open, so much so we sold out of Unicorn beer - Glenn at the Flower Pot came to our rescue with reserves just in time for a welcome return from the darts team!

"I am truly excited to cement the pub at the heart of the community once more, honouring time-held traditions whilst bringing new ideas."

Her plans include serving up tea and bean-to-cup coffee as well as slushies and ice creams which can be enjoyed at neighbouring Windmill Park.

The pub will continue to show a full programme of sports via Sky and TNT as well as supporting local talent, such as Joseph Loake, who races for McLaren in the GT World Challenge Europe.

Angela, 46, has also forged relationship with local causes such as One Project Macclesfield, who kindly provided the food for the pub's first darts match.

Meanwhile, The Dolphin will be hosting events such as quiz afternoons to enable the residents of Believe and Achieve to enjoy a visit to the pub.
