New bus service improvements in Macclesfield set for June
There are two new bus services from Macclesfield to Manchester Airport and to Crewe.
From early June evening journeys on the pre-existing service 38 will run to a revised timetable to improve reliability - new schedule HERE.
New Sunday and Bank holidays will be introduced, funded by Cheshire East Council through the government's bus Service Improvement Plan.
The 130 Macclesfield - Alderley Edge - Wilmslow - Handforth - Wythenshawe - Manchester Airport is also set to benefit - timetable and HERE.
New Sunday and Bank holiday services will be introduced, funded by Cheshire East Council through the government's Bus Service Improvement Plan.
These journeys will be operated by High Peak Buses, sister company of D&G, but D&G Bus day, weekly and season tickets will be accepted.
In a statement, Cheshire East Council said: "New weekend bus services will be added to routes across Cheshire East from next month."
"These service enhancements have been chosen as they allow as many of the borough's key towns and villages to have better public transport access for seven days a week as possible.
"They will also enable more essential journeys to both the major hospitals in the borough – Leighton Hospital in Crewe and Macclesfield District General Hospital.
"The increase in the number of buses running on the number 38 service – one of the council's most strategically important routes – will have significant benefits for users, as it directly links Crewe to Macclesfield and already accounts for more than 400,000 passenger journeys a year."
And with the bus being cheaper to ride than it was a few years ago, why not take advantage of this wider range of services?
