New councillors set sights on finances following Bollington by-election success

Two new councillors have been elected following a by-election.
Alison Rodwell and Jon Weston have been elected to Bollington Town Council.
The two Conservatives have set their sights on ensuring the town gets 'value for money'.
Councillor Rodwell said: "Thank you so much for voting for us yesterday. We were overwhelmed by your support.
"We heard loud and clear that you want us to make sure that our Bollington Town Council tax, or 'precept' as it is known, is well spent and as an accountant this is where I will be starting, scrutinising the finances."
Councillor Weston added: "I am delighted to be serving on the council again.
"I will stand up for Bollington and fight to save our local services from further cuts by Cheshire East.
"I will be starting by asking how we might get better value for money on the contract for Pool Bank car park with Cheshire East."

It was a fairly decisive victory for councillor Rodwell in the East Ward in Thursday's (March 13) by-election.
A 23.56 per cent turnout saw 436 votes cast, two of which were rejected for being 'unmarked or wholly void for uncertainty'.
Councillor Rodwell claimed just over 50 per cent of the vote, with 226 votes.
That's nearly 100 more than Labour's Edward Parkin on 131, with Reform candidate David Langley's receiving 79 votes.
It as a closer contest in the Central Ward, where a 22.75 per cent turnout saw 498 votes were cast, three of which were rejected.
Councillor Weston received 229 votes, just edging Labour's Sam Wells on 201.
Reform UK's Alan Pengelly also ran, earning 68 votes.
