New EP from Macclesfield's Cassia hints at hometown

A tropical pop band from Macclesfield have released a new EP.

Groovy three-piece Cassia have released Home Soon... a title which evokes and implies of a possible return to Macclesfield.

The band has lived in Germany for many years, but returned intermittently to see family and for gigs at Back Wallgate venue Mash Guru.

The new EP is already pushing two million streams on Spotify, and has five tracks.

The band told fans in their latest newsletter: "The EP was written all around the world from Berlin to South Africa and Gamma Rays [Track 3] almost feels like a little nod back to our first album!"

The music video for the aforementioned track can be watched at the top of this article, and was shot in Cape Town.

The Macclesfield band comprises lead singer and guitarist Rob Ellis from Prestbury, bassist Lou Cotterill from the Moss Estate, and Tytherington drummer Jake Leff.
