A new Italian restaurant is opening in Macclesfield.

Mamma Mia is set to open at the former Lazeez Indian restaurant.

Limited details have been revealed so far but judging by the interior of the Sunderland Street venue, the opening shouldn't be too far away.

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page reads: "Watch out Macclesfield!

"New Italian restaurant opening soon near you.

"Serving the best Italian food and classic cocktails from our professional mixologist.

"Watch this space."

Lazeez closed its dine-in restaurant at 68-70 Sunderland Street last November.

Since then the business has relocated to 6 Hurdsfield Green and now operates only as a takeaway.
