New sports facilities proposed at Macclesfield school
A Macclesfield secondary school want to construct a new sports building.
This is according to a planning proposal on the Cheshire East Council website.
Tytherington School want to build a "Proposed new build Sports Pavilion to the north of the Tytherington School site."
Provisionally called 'The Pavilion' in a planning document, it will be located where the "existing cricket nets at the end of the all weather pitch" are currently found
And there is good news for people who live near the School, as they may be able to use the new sports facilities, according to the same document.
It reads: "The Pavilion is to be used by the community outside school hours. The ground floor space will be supported by a grab and go catering outlet, office, quiet study room, and a small toilet and changing facility that will allow the facility to be let out of school hours to the community.
"The pavilion first floor level will have four classroom spaces with a corridor that can double up as a viewing gallery to the all-weather pitch. A pair of classrooms have an operable wall, which can be opened up for events and exams.
"There will be associated safe, segregated pedestrian access, parking and an access road for deliveries."
At least "13 new car parking bays with associated hard and soft landscaping" have beem proposed.
"The pavilion ground floor shall contain a flexible space that can be used by the sixth form during weekdays."
A Manchester architect has been consulted on the project.
Residents can have their say on the plans until July 19. A final decision is earmarked for August 14.
