New women's social group to launch in Macclesfield
A Macclesfield organisation for women to make new friends will launch shortly.
HerSpace, founded by teacher Charlotte Bell, is a social group for adult women of all ages to meet new like-minded pals and have fun.
The small business aims to host multiple events a month, and hopefully attract the membership of hundreds of women in Macclesfield.
"HerSpace is a community designed for local women to help meet new friends, try new experiences and get out of the house more," said Charlotte.
"We've found there are lots of ladies who have got children and want some time for themselves or have children who have flown the nest and want to meet new people, or those who just generally want to try new things but don't know where to start.
"We arrange monthly activities for people to try, some creative events, some foodie events, some active outdoor events.
It is the second HerSpace group to ever launch, with the first being in Macclesfield's neighbouring town of Congleton. The Congleton group boasts over 100 paid members.
"We've chose to launch in Macclesfield next as it is such a thriving community," added Charlotte.

"I love the Treacle Market. And I've had quite a lot of emails from people asking for me to open up here.
"We'll be launching at The Button Warehouse Café Bar on Stanley Street on the evening of Thursday September 15.
"It is an informal no-join-required event where you can chat to me and my event co-ordinators.
"It is £6, but covers the cost of your drink and some games to try and break the ice.
"If you join some of the first events we'd like to do are yoga therapy, women's circles, meetings at The Picturedrome, rock climbing at Substation Macclesfield, comedy nights, and a walk around Macclesfield Forest.
"I think we are seeing lots of groups and companies like HerSpace forming as people are realising how important community is when they have it taken away from them [lockdown].
"At the moment, we have a culture where we have lots of subscriptions and you sign up to a gym or creative class but you have to continue that activity. There's not much out there that gives you the variety that HerSpace offers, and that is why we're taking off.
"Lots of people have said to me 'I can't believe something like HerSpace didn't exist before'."
The September 15 launch event will take place from 7:30pm-9pm, and costs £6.
The group claims to boost the psychological wellbeing of members, and was created in reaction to Charlotte's feeling of isolation during the first lockdown.
"We understand that lockdown has left many of us feeling lonely," concluded Charlotte.
"Which is why our aim is to try and connect women and help create new friendships."
The new service costs women just £6 a month.
Attending the launch events require no obligation to join.
