A Macclesfield resident who caused 'nuisance and disruption' to their neighbours has been evicted.

Police have shut down a house on Pembroke Road after receiving a number of reports of anti-social behaviour.

The occupant has been ordered to leave the property and find alternative accommodation, with all windows and doors being secured for a period of three months.

Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be faced with a fine or prison sentence.

Police Sergeant Matthew Bassirat said: "Closure orders are just one of the many tools police use to keep communities safe and free from crime and disruption.

"This three-month closure order, that will run from June 25 to September 25, will provide some well-needed respite for the residents from the issues arising from the address.

"I would urge anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour or other criminality in their community to please contact local officers and we will do everything we can to address these issues and achieve justice."

Anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour in their area is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via the Cheshire Police website or call 101.
