There is just one week to go until the return of Macclesfield's annual charity beer festival.

Once again taking place at Macclesfield Rugby Club over two days, expect more than 100 beers as well as delicious food and live music.

Tickets for both the Friday and Saturday (May 9 and 10) evening sessions, which are available from Maccbeerfest.co.uk, cost £12.50 and include a commemorative glass.

There is also a family-friendly session on Saturday which is free to attend.

James Hogben, speaking on behalf of the Macclesfield Beer Festival Committee and Macclesfield Round Table, said: "We're incredibly excited to welcome everyone to Macc Beer Fest 2025, it's set to be another great event, with a fantastic range of beer, cider, wine, prosecco and gin, a great music line-up, as well as family entertainment.

"A huge thank you to everyone in the local community that supports us each year, together we hope to raise a fantastic amount of money for the Cheshire branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, our main charity beneficiary this year."

Raising a glass for charity

This is the 29th annual Macclesfield Charity Beer Festival and is once again run entirely by volunteers.

One of the region's longest-running charity events, it has raised around £300,000 over the past 29 years.

This year the festival will raise funds for the Cheshire branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, supporting grants for things like home adaptation equipment and other essential items to help Cheshire residents impacted by motor neurone disease.

MND is an incurable rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
