Opening night of Macclesfield classical music season approaching sell-out
A season of classical music in Macclesfield will kick-off in a fortnight, with just a few tickets remaining.
Established in 1967, The Northern Chamber Orchestra has historically performed in Macclesfield venues such as The Heritage Centre, and will now launch a slew of concerts in Macclesfield's new King's School campus.
"The first event at The King's School is almost sold out - we would love to open the season with a sell out," said organisers.
"Performing we have conductor Delyana Lazarova and violin soloist Jennifer Pike. Both are award winners and high in-demand around the world.
The NCO is the longest standing chamber orchestra in the North West.
"Together they begin the NCO's season with Beethoven's Violin Concerto, a work radical in both the grandeur of its conception and the originality of its solo writing. The concert ends with the Eroica Symphony, undoubtedly a turning point in music history. The two opening forte chords herald a new sound world, full of of emotional extremes, complex rhythms and harmonic dissonances. Music without precedent. Revolutionary music on an epic scale.
"The first concert of the season takes place at The King's School on Prestbury's Alderley Road at Saturday October 15 7:30pm."
This autumn's concerts will also see live classical music in St Michael's Church on Market Place.
