Patients have been warned to expect longer waiting times.

East Cheshire NHS Trust has confirmed that one of the X-ray rooms at Macclesfield District General Hospital is set to undergo a refurbishment.

Work will start on Monday, January 5, and is expected to take around 10 weeks.

As a result, patients have been warned that they may face longer waiting times.

A statement released by the trust readds: "We're making these improvements to ensure patients continue to receive the best possible care in a safe environment.

"During this time, X-ray services will remain available, but there may be some impact on waiting times.

"Thank you for bearing with us as we enhance our facilities to improve your experience."
