Boris Johnson announced today in parliament further Coronavirus restrictions.

It follows a surge in new cases across the country.

Here are the new restrictions that will affect us in Macclesfield:

Firstly pubs across England will have to shut at 10pm from Thursday.

Pubs must also operate table service only.

15 people will now be able to attended weddings down from 30, but 30 will still be able to attend funerals.

Indoor sports teams will also have to operate using the rule of six set out by the government last week.

The plans to reintroduce fans at sport stadiums and restart business conferences have been paused.

The fines for not wearing a mask or breaking the rule of six will now lead to £200 fine on a first breach, rather than £100.

The restrictions may be in place for six months.

The Prime Minister also said he did not want to introduce further restrictions but will have to do so if the number of cases continues to rise.
