Police have named the woman charged with a burglary in Macclesfield.

Ashley Jade Thomas has been arrested following a residential burglary on Nicholson Close, in the Hurdsfield area of town.

It is alleged that the suspect woke the residents during the break-in, which occurred between 2.30am and 3.30am on Saturday, June 20.

A total of £290 in cash was stolen,

Thomas, of Somerton Road in Macclesfield, is due to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 30.

It is understood that the 34-year-old has also been charged with 'a number of other offences in the community'.
