Prestbury Footballer Rape Case: Second man charged in connection to Benjamin Mendy offences

A second man has been charged in relation to the Benjamin Mendy rape allegation investigation.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorised Cheshire Constabulary to charge a second man in connection with allegations of sexual assault.

Louis Saha Matturie, aged 40, has been charged with four counts of rape.

The charges relate to three complainants over the age of 16 and are alleged to have taken place between April 2021 and August 2021.

Matturie does not live in Prestbury, unlike Mendy, the Manchester City footballer who currently remains behind bars after being denied bail last week.

Matturie, of Edwin Court, Eccles, appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Monday 6 September.

He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 10 September.

Cheshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service would like to remind everyone that criminal proceedings against Matturie and Mendy are live and that they have a right to a fair trial.

It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice ongoing proceedings.

Football fans should hold back from sharing opinions on this case across social media.

No picture of Matturie is currently available.

Macclesfield Nub News will continue to follow the case.
