A job listing hints that a Starbucks store could be coming to 'Macclesfield Station'.

Starbucks are hiring in Macclesfield, and it is not at their pre-existing Adlington store.

The Macclesfield Nub News Jobs section, which features job vacancies posted to the jobs website Jobs8, has highlighted that Starbucks are looking for staff in Macclesfield.

But there is currently no Starbucks in central Macclesfield, so it could indicate that a new Starbucks is coming to Macclesfield later this year. So our journalists got to work on investigating.

Macclesfield Nub News' attempts at confirming the opening with the green-clad company itself have not been successful, however, we do have information from the job vacancy itself, and other parties involved, to deduce more information about the potential new coffee shop.

The job vacancy is for both full and part-time staff to work as a Duty Manager for 'Starbucks' in 'Macclesfield Station'.

Now, Macclesfield Station could refer to the Bus Station, but as there are no amenities other than the bus stop and driver's office, it is much more likely that 'Macclesfield Station' refers to Macclesfield Railway Station.

While this is purely speculation, it could indicate that a new coffee shop is coming to Macclesfield Railway Station on Waters Green.

No planning application has been submitted, according to a search today on the Cheshire East Planning website.

However, could it mean that Starbucks are taking over from Pumpkin Cafe, the current coffee shop at Macclesfield Railway Station?

Well, Starbucks responded to Macclesfield Nub News' request for comment, but have nothing on record to state at this stage.

However, SSP Group, owner of the Pumpkin brand, were able to provide more concrete evidence.

A spokesperson said: "The Pumpkin café at Macclesfield station is being converted to a Starbucks. It will continue to be operated by SSP."

Avanti West Coast, who operate Macclesfield Railway Station, responded to a Macclesfield Nub News request for comment.

A spokesman said: "We're working with our tenant at Macclesfield station to improve the experience for customers, which includes an option to replace the current facility with a new retailer."

So what do you think Macclesfield? Would you like to see Starbucks come to Macclesfield Railway Station?

Elsewhere in local train news, the 2023 figures for usage of Macclesfield's trains were recently revealed.
