Silk Brass founder to return to Macclesfield for Christmas concert
By Rossendale Trust 5th Nov 2026
The founder of Silk Brass is returning to Macclesfield this festive season.
Ken Mackintosh, who started Silk Brass with his wife Helen, has decided to return to music after a 20-year break.
He will be bringing the once famous Ken's House Party Christmas Concert back to Macclesfield on Friday, December 11.
"After such a long break, I am really excited to rekindle Christmases gone by, when Helen and I used to host the sell-out Christmas party concerts at the Heritage Centre," said Ken.
Following Helen's passing in 2022, their daughter Joanne started to attend the Rossendale Trust, a local charity that supports adults with learning and some physical disabilities.
Last Christmas, a group of players from Rode Hall Silver Band performed carols at the Rossendale Trust and decided that they should go one better and put on a fundraising concert.
So, this year they have teamed up with Ken to put on a Christmas show, with every penny from ticket sales going to the trust.
"The amazing work that the team up there do is nothing short of wonderful," said Ken.
Ken's House Party Christmas Concert will take place at St Michael's Church, starting at 7.30pm.
