A Coronation Street star is taking on a popular TV game show for a Macclesfield charity.
Samia Longchambon, best known for playing Maria Connor in the long-running ITV soap opera, will be appearing on Celebrity Catchphrase this weekend.
The 43-year-old will be attempting to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice to thank them for the care her father, Joseph Ghadie, received there in the days before his death in 2009.
Luke Brightmore, marketing and communications manager at the hospice, said: "Everyone at East Cheshire Hospice will be cheering Samia on in Celebrity Catchphrase this weekend.
"It is wonderful to see a much‑loved local figure supporting our community in such a fun way.
"We are wishing her the very best of luck!"
You can catch Samia on Celebrity Catchphrase at 5.50pm this Saturday, March 28, on ITV1.
She will be going up against TV presenter Will Best and Amy Dowden, of Strictly Come Dancing fame.
