College staff and students preparing to take on 'Macc to Paris' cycle challenge
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 4th Mar 2026
Macclesfield College staff and students will cycle the distance from Macclesfield to Paris, without leaving campus, as part of this year's International Women's Day celebrations.
On Thursday, March 5, the college community will take on the 'Macc to Paris' Spin Challenge, a full-day fundraising event inspired by the 2026 International Women's Day theme, Give to Gain.
Participants will collectively cycle the distance to Paris on spin bikes to raise money for Cheshire Without Abuse, a charity supporting adults and children affected by domestic abuse across Cheshire East.
A spokesperson from Macclesfield College said: "International Women's Day is about recognising progress, resilience and community.
"Through our 'Macc to Paris' challenge, we're proud to support Cheshire Without Abuse and raise funds for an organisation that makes a real difference locally."
Members of the public can support the challenge by donating via the college's JustGiving page here.
