Former MP among three new recruits to college's governing body
A former MP is one of three people new appointments to a college's governing body.
Macclesfield College has announced the addition of David Rutley to its Corporation Board.
He is joined by Richard Milkins, who has spent over a decade at Cheshire East Council, and Manny Botwe, who brings with him a wealth of educational leadership experience.
The trio will help the college to continue enhancing opportunities for its students and the wider community.
Rachel Kay, Principal and Chief Executive of Macclesfield College, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Manny, Richard and David to our Corporation Board.
"Their knowledge, passion and expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of Macclesfield College.
"I am confident they will help us drive forward our vision for excellence in education and community engagement.
"This exciting development marks a new chapter for Macclesfield College as we continue to grow and deliver exceptional opportunities for all."
Mr Rutley was MP for Macclesfield from 2010 to 2024, serving as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Americas and Caribbean for the past two years.
He has also held senior roles at organisations such as Barclays, Halifax, Asda and PepsiCo International.
Mr Milkins meanwhile helped to lead Cheshire East Council initiatives that have transformed the region's tourism and hospitality sectors.
Last but certainly not least, Mr Botwe comes to Macclesfield College having previously served as deputy headteacher at an 'outstanding' school in South Oxfordshire.
A graduate of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, with a First Class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, Mr Botwe is also the President of the Association of School and College Leaders.
