Macclesfield College has been shining a light on apprentices.

The college on Park Lane hosted its annual Apprenticeship Awards on Thursday, February 5.

With National Apprenticeship Week currently underway, the evening provided a timely opportunity to celebrate the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses and the wider community.

Tracy Cosgrave, the college's director of employer enterprise and commercial services, welcomed guests and praised both apprentices and employers for their continued commitment to high quality apprenticeship provision.

She spoke about the inspiring stories behind each nomination and the exceptional standards demonstrated by apprentices across all programmes.

"This evening is about celebrating success and recognising the hard work that goes on every day," said Tracy.

"Our apprentices consistently impress us with their determination, professionalism and ambition, and we are incredibly grateful to the employers who support and nurture them throughout their journey.

"As we head into National Apprenticeship Week, it's the perfect time to shine a light on the achievements of our apprentices and the employers who help them succeed."

The Apprenticeship Awards aim to recognise the dedication, professionalism and commitment shown by apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journeys, while also highlighting the vital role employers play in developing skilled and confident future talent.

Awards were presented across a broad range of sectors, including business, construction, engineering, health and social care, education, early years, beauty, science and motor vehicle, reflecting the breadth of apprenticeship opportunities available through Macclesfield College.

The coveted Overall Apprentice of the Year award was presented to Aliz Dienes, a Level 2 beauty apprentice, in recognition of her outstanding academic performance, exceptional client care and professional approach.
