National fast food outlet subway look set to reaffirm their presence in Macclesfield.

The build-your-own sandwich company shut their store on 77 Mill Street this winter.

But this does not mean that Subway have given up on our town.

Macclesfield Nub News reached out to a Subway spokesperson, who offered something on the contrary.

"We can confirm that the Subway store on 77 Mill Street is temporarily closed," they said.

Subway are considering reaffirming commitment to our town, and the Mill Street shop could reopen this year, or a new one elsewhere.

"However, there are ongoing discussions regarding reopening the store either on Mill Street or on an alternative site within the same catchment area.

"We look forward to opening in the near future, and providing a further update for the local community when able."

Additionally, the Subway located out of Macclesfield town centre on Macclesfield's West Park Drive remains open.

Subway have also had a presence in the Tytherington Business Park in the past.
