Police are searching for two suspects following an incident in Bollington which led to a police car being rammed with two "stolen" vans.

The incident occurred yesterday (13 January) evening at 8:41pm when police received a report of a suspicious van in the town.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said two vans were found on Wellington Road by the Co-op store. "The vans drove at a patrol car before one van left the scene, a suspect fled from a second van."

Police searched the area with the help of a dog and a drone but the suspect who fled on foot was not found.

The van which fled the scene was later found abandoned in Poynton.

DS Dave Jarvis said: "Thankfully the officers who were in the vehicle were not injured. We believe the two vans were stolen and may have been used in other crimes and are continuing to make a number of enquiries in the area.

"I'd appeal to anyone who has dashcam footage, or CCTV that has captured the incident to contact police on 101 or via our website."

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk quoting IML 894176. Alternatively information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
