Machines in Action

This Friday, volunteers at the Silk Museum will be bringing to life some of the usually static machines in the Machine Gallery.

During this unique experience you will get up close to historic machinery, where the volunteers will demonstrate how to use machines such as a ribbon loom, last used to create Dr Marten AirWair tags, and a cord twisting machine, last used to make parachute cords in World War II.

Windyway Open Day

Windyway will open its doors to the public this weekend, offering a great family day out and a chance to support animals in need.

There will be various stalls to browse as well as a dog show.

Classes include waggiest tail, contented rescue dog and dog and owner look-a-like.

Treacle Market

It's that time again... the Treacle Market is back!

From 10am to 3.30pm, browse over 140 stalls selling everything from books and street food to art, clothing and furniture.

Stalls will be located on Exchange Street, Mill Street, Castle Street, Market Place, Butter Market, St Michael's Churchyard, Upper Market Place and Chestergate.

Macclesfield v Hepburn

The Silkmen return to Moss Rose on Monday for the second part of a bank holiday double header.

Following a trip to Darlington on Saturday, John Rooney's side welcome Hebburn Town to the Leasing.com Stadium.

They will be hoping to make it three wins from free at home, having beaten Brackley Town last time out.
