Teen arrested after Macclesfield primary school receives threatening email

Schools across Cheshire were forced into 'lockdown' due to threats.
Cheshire Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications.
It comes after several schools in Northwich and a school in Macclesfield, understood to Ash Grove Academy, received threatening emails.
Chief Inspector Matt Charnock, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: "On Wednesday, March 5, police received reports that threatening emails had been sent to several schools in Northwich and a school Macclesfield.
"Following assessment, the emails are believed to be malicious and not a credible threat to the pupils or staff.
"An investigation has been launched, and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications; he has since been released on conditional bail.
"Schools who contacted police were provided with the appropriate guidance, and members of the public are urged not to speculate on the case as it remains a live investigation."

It is understood schools that received these emails went into 'lockdown' on Wednesday morning.
However, following police investigations, they were able to reopen in the afternoon and have been open as usual today (Thursday, March 6).
