It has been over two years since the closure of Revolution Macclesfield, but it looks like the building will finally be getting a new purpose.

It is as the premises on 91-95 Mill Street will go to auction this week.

Being listed as a 'Prominent Vacant Freehold Commercial/Residential Property', it is set to go under the hammer for at least £450,000 on Wednesday.

Auctioneers Allsop said: "It is a substantial former bar and flat comprising 1,380.5 sq m (14,860 sq ft), located in the town centre in an established leisure and retail pitch.

"Potential for development and alternative uses subject to all necessary consents.

"The property benefits from Use Class E. VAT is applicable."

The space was part of the global chain Revolution, before closing in 2019.

Previously the space has housed businesses such as The Litten Tree, The Silkworm and Barracuda Bar.

Since Revolution Macclesfield's closure, nearby Duke's Court has gentrified and provided new bars and businesses to help the once decrepit part of town grow.

A large swathe of litter was removed from outside the property in the summer.

The SK11 6NN building can be bid for online, from 11am on Wednesday 8 December.

Allsop added: "This substantial property is arranged over ground and one upper floor to comprise a former bar on ground floor, a former cinema auditorium and self-contained flat on the first floor.

"The flat is separately accessed from the front."

Please head here to prepare for a bid and read more about the site of the old Revolution Macclesfield bar.
