Solar panels are set to be installed at three schools in Macclesfield.
The Government has today (November 17) announced a list of 250 schools set to benefit from Great British Energy's expanded solar scheme.
Upton Priory School, the Fallibroome Academy and Broken Cross Primary Academy and Nursery are all in line for clean-power funding, which will in turn help to cut energy bills.
Welcoming the news, Tim Roca MP said: "This Labour government is really getting behind schools in the Macclesfield area.
"Today's announcement means Upton Priory School, the Fallibroome Academy and Broken Cross Primary Academy and Nursery will be able to spend less on their energy bills and put more into teaching our children.
"It's great news for everyone, and it's exactly the kind of common-sense decision that will help get the country moving again.
"Through Great British Energy, Labour is boosting energy security, supporting our public services and helping bring bills down for local families."
The solar scheme, worth up to £255 million, is the first major project from the Government's publicly owned energy company, Great British Energy.
It is estimated that the scheme could save each of the 250 schools thousands of pounds on their energy bills.
Over 270 NHS sites and 15 military sites will also benefit from the initiative.
