'High-quality' entertainment is coming right to your doorstep.

Cheshire Rural Touring Arts is heading back on the road this Spring with a line-up of shows suitable for all audiences.

Over the next 11 weeks they will be taking over village halls, community centres, libraries and other local venues.

Councillor Louise Gittens, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: "CRTA is a brilliant asset to Cheshire.

"In this climate it can be expensive to get out to see shows in Manchester, Liverpool, and Chester, but with CRTA you can get along to your local village hall, socialise with your neighbours, and enjoy a fabulous high-quality professional show – selected and hosted locally by you, for you."

CRTA is a partnership between Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council, supported by Arts Council England.

The next show in Macclesfield will be held at the library on Saturday, April 12.

Suitable for children aged three to eight, The Mountain Witch by Speedwell Dance is described as an 'adventurous tale of an ancient and powerful witch and seasons gone awry'.

Children are invited into the set to awaken scampering creatures, tiptoe past the Mountain Witch's cave, and finally convince her to let the sun return.

Details for the rest of CRTA's Spring schedule can be found below.
