Two men charged in connection with Indian restaurant burglary spree

Two men have been charged in connection with a string of burglaries at Indian restaurant.
Mohammed Alam and Masum Alom were arrested on Wednesday (March 26) after police stopped a car on the A535 Holmes Chapel Road in Chelford.
Following questioning, Alam has been charged with going equipped for theft and two counts of burglary other than a dwelling.
Alom has been charged with one count of burglary other than a dwelling, one count of theft, one count of going equipped for theft, two counts of driving without insurance and two counts of driving without a licence.
The burglary charges relate to incidents at Indian restaurants in Walsall, on Friday, August 9, 2024, and Northwich, on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, the theft charge relates to an incident at an Indian restaurant in Penketh, Warrington, on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Alam, aged 39 and of Hamsted Road in Birmingham, and Alom, aged 50, of Clews Close, Walsall, have both been remanded in custody.
They are set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 27.
