Two people taken to hospital as police and ambulance crews descend on Macclesfield town centre

Two people were taken to hospital following an incident in Macclesfield town centre.

Police and ambulance crews descended on Duke Street on Friday afternoon, June 19.

The exact circumstances are not yet clear however police have stated there were reports of 'abusive' patients.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 2.06pm on Friday, June 19, police were contacted by paramedics who requested support with an number of abusive patients on Duke Street.

"Officers attended and two people were subsequently taken to hospital.

"No offences were reported and no arrests were made."
