Get Crafty

There's a unique Christmas Candle Making Workshop on in Siddington this weekend.

Ma Lumiere will be your host at Capesthorne Hall for the Saturday's event.

All tools, materials and guidance are provided. As well as creating two of your very own candles to take home you will also learn details about the candle industry and how to keep your candles at their best.

The perfect opportunity to kickstart the festive season! You will also have special exclusive access into The Hall which will be dressed for Christmas and to help create a magical day out.

Refreshments, festive nibbles and more included in this 90 minute masterclass.

In the town centre...

Macclesfield Repair Cafe is back again, the monthly event encourages us to fix things you already own instead of buying new.

A particular focus this week is on bringing new life to old tools. Bring your clippers, scissors, pruners, carvers, smoothing planes, chisels, shears, secateurs.

Our fantastic repairers will help your sharpen them.

Of course, they will be open for the usual textile, electronic, mechanical, woodwork and bike repairs too.

Saturday December 9. 10am till 2pm. Duke Street community Centre – ex Senior citizen's Hall – Duke street, Macclesfield SK11 6UR. Parking-onsite.

Christmas Markets

The Flower Pot pub on Congleton Road.

A Macclesfield pub is supporting independent traders this Saturday.

Head to The Flower Pot for their Christmas markets, with parking on-site.

There will be an array of stalls to explore for some wonderful gifts.

The shopping will be complimented by festive blend of live music, carol singers, brass band and oodles of mulled wine.

Furthermore, there will be a Christmas movie for the kids showing at 4pm. 

The pub itself is open from 12pm to 12am on a Saturday.

Dickensian Sunday

Enjoy one of Charles Dickens' best known works in a similarly-historic setting.

Returning by popular demand, is a performance of A Christmas Carol at Capesthorne Hall.

This is a recitation of Charles Dickens Ghostly Tale 2:30pm – 4:30pm (Hall opens 2:00pm).

Adults – £13.50 Children (5 – 16 yrs) – £6.00 Pre-book tickets only.
