What Macclesfield Nub News readers love about living in Treacle Town

Macclesfield was recently named the seventh happiest place to live in Great Britain.
That is according to Rightmove's annual Happy at Home Index, which ranked Treacle Town as the second happiest place in the North West and seventh overall.
With this in mind, we asked Macclesfield Nub News readers what they love about living here.

Community
Wendy Gardner thinks the 'friendly people' are what make Macclesfield such a happy place to live.
Linda Gale wrote: "Lovely people and surrounded by beautiful countryside"
Macclesfield Football Club was also hailed as a key point of happiness by Pete Wilko.
As was The Shamrock Bar on Mill Street, praised by Eugene Doherty, while Tracy Marriott showed her love for Brassingtons Deli on Brown Street.
Countryside
Many Nub News readers praised the 'stunning countryside on our doorstep,' such as Macclesfield Forest, Macclesfield Canal and Tegg's Nose.
"The countryside and the wildlife are lovely," said Fiona Robb.
"You don't have to go far to see them."
Sam Hatton commented: "The wildlife on Danes Moss."

Culture
Caroline Walker gave a shoutout to all of the events hosted by Macclesfield Town Council, such as Step into Christmas, Pride, and the Twilight Market, as well as the 'choice of places to eat'.
Spearings Butchers on Park Green is a particular highlight for Tracyie Lodge, who added: "Cinemac as a little venue, as well as a traditional cinema."
Meanwhile, Suzy Prince, owner of The Quiet Cat Booskop, said she loves 'pottering around the town centre to all the shops and cafes''.
Last but not least, Elisabeth Hobbes values the fact that Macclesfield 'still has a library,' alongside the monthly Treacle Market and live music events.
