Woman rescued from overturned car outside Macclesfield Hospital

Firefighters were called to rescue a woman from an overturned in Macclesfield this afternoon.

The incident occurred outside the hospital on Victoria Road with crews being called to the scene around 1pm.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "On arrival a woman was trapped inside the small car. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and helped the woman get out of it.

"She was handed over to the care of paramedics and firefighters then helped the police clear up the area."

The incident was resolved quickly with crews on the scene for less than 30 minutes.

It is not clear how the incident happened.
