Macclesfield: It is going to be a blustery one this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the majority of the UK, including Macclesfield.

The bad news it may affect your Saturday plans.

The good news? The worst of it will be while you are asleep, and it won't affect the Treacle Market on Sunday.

Wind will be the extreme weather in Macclesfield on Saturday.

High winds may cause some travel disruption and damage. They'll peak at 40mph at 6am, slowing down to around 30mph in the daytime, and down to 23mph winds at the end of the night.

Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible.

Some damage to trees, temporary structures and buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen.

Road and train services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible. It will also be bloody cold!

Highs of 3 and lows of -1 degrees Celsius are forecast in Macclesfield on Saturday.

Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect mobile phone coverage. Some roads and bridges may close.
