A YouTuber couldn't choose between two chippies in Macclesfield - so he tried and compared them both!

Photographer Stephen Peel visited Macclesfield earlier this month, to try the Mill Lane Chippy and The Macc Fryer.

The man dedicates his channel to visiting chip shops, so much so he goes by the moniker The Chippy tour, with 1000 subscribers.

The YouTuber reviewed both of them in a ten minute video, which you can view at the top of this article.

"Both of the chippies were right next door to each other, literally on the same building," he said in the video

"I am giving them both a four stars out of five."

He ordered cod and chips and a small curry from each, for a fair comparison.

The Macc Fryer, which is cash only, cost £8.60.

The same items at Mill Lane Chippy, cost £8.60, but they also take card.

He preferred Mill Lane Chippy's curry sauce pot.

But the scores were level at 1-1 when he preferred the chips from Macc Fryer.

And he struggled to make an instant casting vote, as he preferred the fish on one but the batter in the other.

However, when taking further categories into account he went for Mill Lane Chippy as the overall winner.

"Both are nice chippies, but the Mill Lane Chippy just pipped it with the fish," he concluded.

Stephen has previously visited 'Cheshire's worst chippy', but this was his first video in Macclesfield, his previously closest video being Wilmslow.
