Macclesfield Town Hall to gain sustainable heating system to help meet Council's carbon zero targets

Macclesfield Town Hall is owned by Cheshire East Council, but Macclesfield Town Council also work in there.

Cheshire East Council have secured further funding to support their carbon neutral target for four years time.

If our borough council meet the goal, it can mean that their services they provide have no impact on the environment. This may include electric bin vans and decarbonising energy for their buildings.

Ray Shaw, the longstanding and acclaimed Chairman of Gawsworth Community Shop, is to step down from his role.

A new chairperson will be appointed later this year and the recruitment process to find Ray's successor is now underway.

Macclesfield's first ska gig of the year will be held this weekend, at the prolific concert-hosting Nags Head pub.

Macclesfield's Tidy Planet ships composters to Kazakhstan oilfield to compost food waste

Macclesfield-based Tidy Planet has shipped four of its A900 Rocket Composters and a bespoke Dehydra Dewatering system to an oilfield in Kazakhstan, to compost the site's 255 annual tonnes of food waste.

Situated in Western Kazakhstan in the Burlin region, the remote 50km² facility is a major producer of oil and gas and has 4,000 employees working on the premises at any one time.
