Deputy Mayor Opens New Macclesfield Tea Store on Chestergate

The Deputy Mayor and Phil, who founded the business in 2014, and sold to local cafés before launching on Amazon in 2019. 2021 marks the opening of their first physical store - and where better than Macc.

A top-of-the-range tea store was opened by the Deputy Mayor in Macclesfield today.

The Cheshire Tea Company store, situated on 121 Chestergate opposite the Picturedrome, houses over 50 flavours of tea to choose from.

Cheshire Police have released a statement following the owners of Bosley mill being cleared of of gross negligence manslaughter earlier this week.

The 2015 explosion which killed four workers had led to owner George Boden and the firm Wood Treatment Ltd being on trial since February.

Macclesfield football clubs big and small will refuse to post to social media this weekend - despite games being played.

This is due to the #StopOnlineAbuse campaign - which fights the increasing racism and abuse footballers have received from fans via social media.

Student Encourages Gardening for Dementia Patients Wellbeing at Macclesfield Hospital

A green-thumbed occupational therapy student at Macclesfield District General Hospital has improved wellbeing on the wards by getting patients involved in therapeutic gardening activities.

University of Liverpool student Nia Owen-Booth came up with the idea on her work placement in Macclesfield, and has told all about the initiative for this week's National Gardening Week 2021.

A Macclesfield home has been closed for three months in response to persistent drug use and anti-social behaviour.

Officers from Macclesfield Local Policing Unit (LPU) secured a closure order for the two-storey house on Mill Road on Wednesday 28 April.
