A new Macclesfield kart driver has steered into success, just months after picking up the sport.
Logan Jackson, aged 11, has just won sliver at a Cheshire tourney, and is just weeks away from potentially winning another.
Last week, the Macclesfield resident came 2nd in the British Indoor Karting Championship Local Finals at Warrington.
This has qualified him to race in Nottingham next month, to compete in the regional finals.
And the good news doesn't stop there, as Logan is also currently in pole position to win the championship in the Global Karting League UK.
He is currently taking part in the All Electric Kart Racing Series, owned by former F1 Mechanic Rob Smedley, which is based all over the UK.
Logan is six points clear at the top, with only two more rounds to go, he's hoping to hold onto the top step of the podium.
It is a remarkable rise for the young racer, who according to proud mum Nicola Jackson, only first picked up the wheel in February of this year.
"I am extremely proud, he has come from zero to hero in six months," said Nicola.
"He has had no racing experience, only being a supporter of the series, starting in February indoors.
"His first outdoor practice is in April, and his first outdoor race was in May."
Logan got into racing through liking Formula One and British Touring Cars.
"It is my happy place," said Logan.
But it was not until fellow young kart racer Austin Gibson gifted him his own car, that he actually got his hands on the wheel.
"A huge thanks to Austin's dad Lee Gibson, who donated the kart," revealed Nicola.
"If it was not for Austin's family, Logan would not have had his own kart either, due to our funds.
"Logan is literally sponsorship ran."
When the Jackson's received the kart, some modifications were made.
"It was a petrol kart and we converted it to electric with the powertrain from MightE," shared Nicola.
"Logan is hoping to enter more electric championships as he fully supports the race for change with zero emissions and low noise due to being autistic and ADHD."
"I just like racing in general," added Logan.
"My favourite racer is Lando Norris."
Logan is a pupil of Beech Hall School in Macclesfield, having just started there this month.
James Allan is Headteacher of Beech Hall School, and very proud of Logan too.
"Whilst he has only been with us a couple of weeks, Logan has thrown himself into life at Beech Hall and is clearly a young man destined for success," he said.
"We are so proud of his efforts and achievements on the track and will be following his progress with enthusiasm.
"Whatever our pupils' interests we are keen to nurture them and support them, and I shall look forward to seeing Logan on the podium again."
Logan is a former pupil of Parkett Heyes Road school Broken Cross Primary Academy.
Donna Lewis, of Broken Cross Primary Academy, was Logan's headteacher up until summer 2024.
"It's wonderful to see Logan continue to succeed in a field he is so passionate about," said Donna.
"The staff and pupils at Broken Cross Primary Academy look forward to seeing what the future holds for Logan and we will be following his progress with excitement."
And businesses are backing the boy wonder too. Logan is supported by local companies such as Wilmslow's Apex Doma Solar Specialists, BAS NW, Vehicle Adaptation Specialists, Sandbach's Chrome North West Ltd, Macclesfield Scrap Metals, Hartford Homes & Macclesfield Maintenance Limited.
