Macclesfield FC have announced the death of women's first team player, Winnie Mayele.
Just 19-years-old, Winnie passed away following a battle with cancer.
She had been due to commence her studies at the University of Lancashire next year.
A statement released by the club reads: "Despite her young years, Winnie showed more strength, courage and determination than many of us will show in a lifetime.
"An unbelievably talented footballer and league champion with us, Winnie faced everything that life threw at her with bravery, heart and most defiantly of all, a beaming smile on her face."

The club statement continues: "Winnie had previously beaten cancer and this in itself exemplifies the fact that she was a true fighter who refused to give in.
"Even when she could not play the game she loved so much herself, Winnie was unrelenting in her support of those who meant everything to her. To her, they weren't just teammates, they were pieces of her heart that she actively cherished every single day.
"The undeniable fighting spirit, resilience and love of life that Winnie effortlessly showed inspired everyone, and the stories which she helped create will now be immortalised within the hearts and minds of so many.
"Winnie will be remembered not only for her ability as a footballer, but for her resolve, positivity and unwavering spirit in the face of unimaginable challenges.
"But more than all that, Winnie will be remembered as being a loving young woman who spread happiness and joy wherever she went.
"Our deepest condolences are with Winnie's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time."
