Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, recently met with Mr Andy Venables, a local dairy farmer, to see first-hand how dairy farmers are coping during the coronavirus pandemic and to give his support to the 'Mission4Milk' campaign.

During the visit, Mr Rutley was given a tour of Hills Green Farm, which is on the outskirts of Macclesfield, by Mr Venables and his father, as well as fellow farmer Mr Danny Newton.

Cllr Amanda Stott represents the Bollington ward.

Bollington ward councillor Amanda Stott has issued another warning that emergency Covid-19 funding won't be enough to cover the impact of the pandemic.

While Cheshire East Council welcomes the latest round of funding from central government - which has seen it gain an allocation of £2.7 million as part of a further £500m emergency pot - it says it won't be sufficient going forward.

Alan Boothby Funeral Details

Further to the passing of devoted Macclesfield Town supporter Alan Boothby last week, the club has been informed of arrangements regarding his funeral.

A private ceremony will be held at Macclesfield Crematorium at 11:20am on Thursday 6th August, where close family and friends will gather to celebrate Alan's life.

The visual welcome for visitors arriving at Macclesfield by train improved hugely this week with the installation of an artwork featuring landmarks from the town.

The metal artwork mural, commissioned by Macclesfield Town Council and designed by artist Tim Davies, was the favourite choice of Macclesfield residents who voted on three different submissions in a public consultation last year.
