Dog owners are being urged to keep their pets under control and think of others when visiting the borough's parks and open spaces following the death of a lamb near Macclesfield.

As residents get out more after the lockdown, the council's rangers service has received several complaints about dogs allowed to roam loose and owners not cleaning up after them.

Macclesfield's Barnaby Festival will be presenting a digital programme over the weekend of 20 – 21 June to celebrate its tenth anniversary.

Barnaby Festival was due to return in venues and spaces across Macclesfield town centre. However due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Barnaby Festival is not able to deliver its programme as normal.

Patients, staff and visitors will be required to wear a face covering at Macclesfield Hospital from Monday (15 June) onwards following new NHS guidance.

New data has revealed how many people in Macclesfield and the surrounding areas have died due to Covid-19 related illness.

Figures compiled by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show a total of 87 people died of coronavirus in the local area between 1 March and 31 May and were registered by 6 June 2020.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Barnaby Festival cannot hold the parade in the normal way this year, but the festival is working with partners to present a #HomemadeParade
