It looks unlikely that Cheshire East will be deploying any covid-secure marshals to help residents social distance in the borough's town centres for the time being.

When asked if the authority planned to bring in any marshals, a CEC spokesperson told the LDRS: "The prime minister announced last week that Covid-secure marshals will be introduced in towns and city centres in England to help ensure social distancing rules are followed.

All Year 8 and Sixth Form students at the Fallibroome Academy in Macclesfield have been asked to isolate following one positive Covid-19 case at the school.

In an email sent out to parents on Sunday, headteacher Francis Power confirmed that an unidentified Year 8 pupil received a positive test, while their sibling in the Sixth Form is "feeling unwell" and being tested.

Cheshire Police is appealing to those who travel to work on the roads to drive carefully and help keep the county's roads safe.

As part of a national week of action (Monday 14 – Sunday 20 September) Project EDWARD will see officers in Cheshire targeting those who drive for work across the county in a bid to keep them, and other road users, safe on the roads.
