Having worked in the industry for the best part of 35 years, 30 of which in Macclesfield, it is fair to say that Will Prescott knows a thing or two about selling houses.

Together with partner Martin Holden (who has since retired) they combined their joint knowledge and experience to co-found Holden & Prescott, an independent estate agents located, quite literally in the heart of Macclesfield.

That was back in 1998, and the company has gone from strength to strength ever since - winning many local and national awards.

"We were thrilled and very proud to have been recognised as one of the best estate agents in the country recently and to have been included in 'Best Estate Agency Guide UK'," said Will.

"It meant a lot to us as a team as only those who achieve the very highest standards are included."

No small feat for an independent, market town estate agents I'm sure you'll agree!

"Our philosophy from the start was to develop an exceptional team of negotiators that had a profound understanding of the local area coupled with a warm and friendly approach," explained Will.

"The team we have at Holden & Prescott are all of that and more, and are dedicated to making the entire process, whether buying, selling or renting your home a more positive and less stressful experience."

"I'm very proud of them."

Will's right-hand man is branch manager Jack Hanson whose energy and passion has contributed much to the continued success of the company.

"We believe that building strong relationships with each and every one of our customers and providing a seamless transition from valuation to viewing to offer and completion is at the heart of what we do," said Jack.

"And the team here, all of whom live in the area, have an excellent knowledge of the local market and are on hand seven days a week to provide help and advice."

"Furthermore, our marketing strategy includes high-quality photographs showcasing your property's best features, producing professionally designed brochures, sending out property matching emails for target marketing and of course using property portals such as Rightmove and social media outlets."

"All of which helps to make your property stand out from the crowd."

As well as sales, Holden & Prescott has a successful and ever-expanding lettings department and with over 250 managed properties plus over 1,000 let only clients on its books, there is much to keep them busy.

"We pride ourselves on offering a quality, personal service both for landlords and tenants alike," said Jane Williams, H&P lettings manager.

"It can be challenging but we have an excellent, committed team who bring enthusiasm and energy to the role every single day."

"Ultimately, it's a very rewarding role as we get to know people from all backgrounds and all walks of life."

Despite his 25 years at the helm, Will Prescott remains the driving force behind Holden & Prescott and plays a fundamental strategic role in moving the business forward.

Focusing his wealth of experience, leadership and good management into the company's future development, he aims to ensure that Holden & Prescott continues to thrive and maintain its status as 'the leading independent estate agent in the area'.

"Even after over 35 years in the business I still thoroughly enjoy coming to work," revealed Will.

"Visiting the many friendly folk of Macclesfield and advising about their property is so rewarding."

"Having worked here for so long now, much of our business is repeat business and recommendations."

And what do other members of the team at H&P think of Will?

"He has a great sense of humour," said senior negotiator Fiona Dodd who has worked alongside Will for the best part of 25 years.

"It is an absolute privilege and pleasure to work with him as he goes the extra mile into keeping both his clients and staff happy at all times and in equal measure."

"Oh, and he makes great sausage butties!"
