World Harvest Festival 2026

Dear Friends and Supporters,

It is my pleasure to invite you to the Macclesfield World Harvest Festival 2026, taking place on Saturday 10th October at 2:00 pm at the United Reformed Church, Park Green. Macclesfield. This year's celebration promises to be our most vibrant yet — a joyful, colourful gathering of music, dance, stories, art, and traditional cuisines that reflect the extraordinary diversity of our town. Your hosts for the day will be Asiah Cullen and Michelle Brown, who will warmly welcome guests, performers, partners, and community groups throughout the event.

About the Festival & Our Vision

Our project, "Get to Know Your Neighbour," is rooted in the belief that creativity and culture bring people closer. Through shared music, food, art, and storytelling, we aim to weave together the rich tapestry of Macclesfield's communities — celebrating our differences while strengthening the bonds that connect us. By preserving traditional skills, uplifting Global Majority voices, and creating inclusive spaces for cultural expression, we hope to build a town where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed.

Who Makes This Possible

The festival is led by Asiah Cullen, with musical composition and artistic support from Adam Gorb, administration and fundraising coordination from Michelle Brown, and African cultural workshops delivered by OUT OF AFRICA, led by Nokuthula (Jean).

We are honoured to work alongside an incredible network of organisations and charities, including HOPE, Just Drop In, the Silk Museum, Macclesfield Community ArtSpace, Refugees Welcome, Pearls of Cheshire, and several Macclesfield churches including St Peter's, and URC. We also celebrate the contributions of our local cultural artists, performers, and volunteers, whose energy and creativity make this festival truly special. Their dedication to cultural inclusion and community wellbeing is helping us make a real and lasting difference.

Summer Workshops & Creative Activities

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are running three free African family workshops this summer at St Peter's Church, Windmill Street — celebrating Zulu, Kenyan, and Nigerian traditions through music, dance, stories, and culture. These sessions are open to absolutely everyone.

How You Can Help

To keep this wonderful momentum growing, we have launched a GoFundMe to support free workshops, paid opportunities for Global Majority and Refugee artists, and inclusive cultural events for families across Macclesfield. If you feel able, we would be deeply grateful if you could share our link within your network or on your social channels:

Every pound raised goes directly toward strengthening community connections, supporting artists, and creating rare opportunities for cultural expression and paid creative work.

Would You Like to Perform at the Festival?

If you would like to take part in the World Harvest Festival as a performer on Saturday 10th October, we would be absolutely delighted to hear from you. Whether you sing, dance, drum, tell stories, play an instrument, or represent a cultural tradition you'd love to share, you are warmly invited to join our lineup.

Please email: [email protected]

We welcome performers from all backgrounds — local artists, cultural groups, community choirs, youth performers, traditional musicians, and anyone who wants to help us celebrate the wonderful diversity of Macclesfield and its surrounding towns.

Warmest regards, Michelle Brown
