Bollington Bikefest
Adelphi Mill, Grimshaw Lane, Bollington
Sports
10 Sep 2023
UNTIL Sunday 10 September
This is the eleventh successive year of the event which attracts 200-300 riders each year.
The Twenty is Plenty is more of a fun cycle, the 20 km (12 miles) route is along the Middlewood Way and gives beginners and families an easier cycle to raise money for charity.
The route for the Bolly Bash has been modified for this year's event. We have taken out the loop into Macclesfield towards the end of the ride and added a new section which will now take riders out towards Knolls Green. We are delighted to announce that Bidlea Dairies, have offered to host our feed station which will be 30 miles into the ride. The route will be signposted, with GPX data and written directions being provided to riders.
We have updated our Grimshaw Grueller route this year following feedback from last year's riders. After problems with signs going missing we have decided not to sign the route and riders will have to rely on GPX data which will be provided, along with written directions. The final section around Higher Poynton has been replaced with a loop around Buxton. Feed stations will now be at Rudyard Hotel at 20 miles and The Refreshment Station at Millers Dale at 49 miles . GPX data will be uploaded onto the event website and printed directions will be available on the day.
After your ride, there will be refreshments by way of a BBQ and teas/coffees included in the fee. There will also be a bar on site.
The event is organised by Macclesfield and District Lions Club and Girlguiding, the beneficiaries are East Cheshire Hospice and local charities. Last year we raised £3000 and we are, with your support, hoping to raise the same or more.
