Discontented matinee idol Garry Essendine sits at the centre of his own universe; suave, hedonistic, and too old, says his wife, to be having numerous affairs. While his harmless flings with infatuated debutantes are largely tolerated, playing closer to home is not. As Gary struggles to keep the full extent of his misdemeanours from being discovered, all hell threatens to break loose.
