Macclesfield COVID cases down again during October half-term

The numbers for positive COVID-tests in Macclesfield during the October half-term have come through.

The latest figures for the seven days up until October 28 shows a greater fall than the data for the previous seven days, which saw a drop of just one case.

Please note that brackets denote change from previous seven days.

The stats are as follows:

Bollington recorded 59 cases (up 3 from previous week)

Central Macclesfield recorded 56 (up 2)

Gawsworth & Macclesfield Forest recorded 58 cases (down 7)

Macclesfield Bollinbrook recorded 29 cases (down 5)

Macclesfield East & Hurdsfield recorded 36 cases (down 8)

Macclesfield Tytherington recorded 30 cases (down 1)

Macclesfield South & Lyme Green recorded 50 cases (up 29)

Macclesfield Upton Priory & Greenside recorded 37 cases (down 38)

Macclesfield Weston recorded 49 cases (down 6)

Prestbury & Adlington recorded 17 cases (down 21)

This totals to 402 cases for the Macclesfield area in the most recent data.

Macclesfield Nub News reported 421 cases in the positive tests for the seven days leading up to October 21.

This means the most recent data shows a decline of 22 from the previous week's case figures of 443.

The percentage of people aged 12+ single vaccinated up to and including 1 November 2021 in Central Macclesfield is 80.3%.

For the double-jabbed in Central Macc, there is an increase of 0.4% to 75.4%.

Booster vaccination data for Macclesfield is currently unavailable.

Despite the drop in case numbers, mask wearing in public transport and confined public spaces are still recommended.

There's good news with local deaths being also down.

Across East Cheshire NHS Trust, two people with coronavirus went into hospital on 24 October 2021.

For data protection reasons, it is unknown if any of the deceased are from Macclesfield, or passed at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

Between 18 October 2021 and 24 October 2021, 15 Cheshire East residents went into hospital with coronavirus.

This shows a decrease of -28.6% compared to the previous seven days.

There were 20 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 26 October 2021.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were three coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 26 October 2021.

There were zero deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 2 November 2021.

Between 27 October 2021 and 2 November 2021, there have been five deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -50.0% compared to the previous seven days.
