There's more great news for The Silkmen - as the Leasing.com Stadium has increased in capacity.

The London Road ground will now be able to take-in 708 extra fans than before.

There are also hopes for even more seats being allowed, as Macclesfield FC have the chance to extend their lead by five points at the top of the North West Counties Football League, with their next home game against Winsford United.

"Macclesfield FC are delighted to announce that following a Safety Advisory Group meeting this morning, our capacity at the Leasing.com Stadium has been increased.

"This was previously set at 3,502 – but thanks to the unbelievable efforts of Club Staff and volunteers, we are now able to welcome 4,210 spectators into the Leasing.com Stadium.

"In addition to this, we are hopeful that our capacity will be raised further to 4,360 over the course of the next few days.

"This is a magnificent achievement for all concerned and we are delighted that more people are now able to witness this epic inaugural season unfold.

"As well as thanking all our Club Staff and volunteers, we would also like to extend this to all members of the Safety Advisory Group – who have provided us with an incredible amount of support and understanding throughout.

"Last but by no means least, we would like to pay tribute to our incredible fans – who have facilitated this increase through their magnificent respect for our Ground Regulations.

"But make no mistake, we need that same level of respect to continue now our capacity has been increased – even more so in fact.

"Our capacity remains under constant review and as such, the increase that we are celebrating today could be rescinded at any time.

"Nobody wants that to happen and so we would ask everyone to stay within the area of the Stadium that their ticket relates to and avoid travelling between areas where possible.

"To secure our capacity increase, the Club has committed to managing numbers in the individual stands. This requires some additional controls on the movement of people around the ground.

"Clearly some fans use different areas of the ground to purchase refreshments during the game and this is absolutely fine, but what we are asking is for all fans to then return to the area of the Stadium that their ticket relates."

The club also addressed fans regarding how the Omicron variant will change their club.

They added: "In terms of Covid protocols, although it will not be a requirement to prove your vaccination status or a negative lateral flow test to gain entry into the Stadium, we would ask supporters to abide by all Government guidelines.

"This means using the provided hand sanitisers, testing yourself if you feel unwell and staying away from the game if you have reason to believe that you have Covid."
