Macclesfield rocker Ben Gorb has released their latest single.

No One Knows, is an anthemic track, interlaced with delicate strings, which also close out the emotive song.

It is the second single this year from Macclesfield's Ben Gorb (28), who also released his debut album last year in the midst of the pandemic.

Macclesfield Nub News spoke to the self-employed musician about No One Knows.

"My music is very much classic rock influenced with a bit of a folk twist in there", he said.

"No One Knows leans more on the folky influence, there's definitely a bit of The Beatles in there from George Martin's orchestral arrangements as well.

"The whole sound is bigger. There's lots of dynamic changes. It is my favourite single I've put out so far."

It is Ben's second release since his eight-track album Reflections released last year.

His last single, Let The Music Play, which was a rousing call to usher in live performances again post-lockdown, received almost 5,000 views on YouTube.

His new track however, takes a much more introspective approach, and regards romantic relationships during the pandemic.

"The song is about a relationship and there's a definitely a theme of a long-distance relationship in there. And sort of wanting to know what is going on," he added.

"It was very rewarding to release my debut album last year but also very frustrating. A sort of mixture of emotions really.

"It was tough putting it out and not gigging it, but the response has been great.

"But I'm more excited to play this new song live, and release my upcoming EP which I will be performing at Manchester's Night and Day Café."

No One Knows is taken off his forthcoming EP Send Me A Sign.

The five-track release comes out on July 8, and you can purchase gig tickets for the launch of the EP here.

Ben will also play at The Leather's Smithy in Langley on June 4, and another local gig will be Swanload at Macclesfield's The Swan with Two Necks on August 28.

The Royal Northern College of Music graduate has lived in Macc for over 21 years, since he was seven.

"Even though Macclesfield is a medium-sized town, the music scene is very, very good," said Ben.

"Obviously things have been complicated but there are plenty of great venues, great artists and great people.

"My message to the people of Macclesfield would be to please keep supporting live music.

"Live musicians need the stability and enjoyment of it, the reason they do what we do is for their passion for performance, so it will mean the world to them to come out and support them after such a tough year of not doing it."

The people of Macclesfield can also book Ben for guitar lessons. His contact details can be found on his website.
