Macclesfield Hospital workers will be treated to a free meal from the 'Best Takeaway in the North of England'.

Macc's hardworking frontline NHS staff will tuck to biryani's thanks to Macclesfield Indian takeaway Achaari.

The Hurdsfield Road curry specialists will make the one-and-a-half-mile trip to Victoria Road, to deliver one-hundred biryanis to staff at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

They were making semi-regular trips giving their key workers free meals during 2020, when the pandemic was at its peak.

The 100 new curries will be a mixture of chicken biryanis and vegetable biryanis, valued at a minimum of £6.95 each.

And delivery will be free as well, with this being a kind and noble gesture from the Macclesfield business.

They'll be delivered on Wednesday December 1, as part of a UK-wide initiative.

That is according to Achaari's Co-Investor and Visionary Business Leader Mohammed Nazrul Hussain.

"We are taking part in a national movement for those that helped us. It is a treat for the NHS," said Mohammed.

Outside of the free curry day, Achaari Takeaway also offer a 10% discount for NHS and Emergency Service workers.

Curry Fest UK came up with the idea, but it is not known if any other Macclesfield Indian takeaways are taking part in the country-wide good deed.

The centurion of free food for Macc Hospital staff will not affect the takeaway's opening on Wednesday.

Achaari is open from 5pm to 11pm daily, and from 4:30pm at weekends.
